Ms. Karnas

IMG_7610.jpg

My name is Ana-Alicia Karnas and I am Taylor's 6th, 7th and 8th grade art teacher.  This is my 9th year teaching middle school.  I received my bachelor's in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of New Mexico in 2009.  In 2011 I obtained my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading and English as a Second Language focus from the University of Texas at Arlington.  I am currently pursing my National Board Certification in Teaching.  For fun I like to hang out with my family, watch Big Brother and of course make art!  My media of choice is acrylic paint, ceramics, and pastel.  Being an art teacher is a highlight of my life and I look forward to another great school year.

Ms. Karnas' ART Class

This year in Art I and Art II we will be studying the elements and principles of art.  We will follow the National Core Art Standards and study both famous and local artists.  We will also garner inspiration from other subjects including: social studies, literature, math and science.

There are always many great ways to incorporate the arts into your student's life outside of school:
